Poley-Moore Wedding

On Saturday April 26, 2008 we attended a beautiful wedding of two special friends. Rebecca Poley and Mitchell Moore are two University students that we have known for almost 3 years. The wedding ceremony was a true act of worship and blessing on their marriage. Tim told Max and Simon that the reason the girls behind us were crying, was because "another wonderful guy was just taken off the market!" The reception was a video tribute to the marriages of those in attendance and a reflection on the theatrical activities of Rebecca and Mitchell. Simon enjoyed the turkey dinner and Max loved the kissing card game (he got to kiss Rebecca)!

A Celebration

Max and Simon had a very special day with Kellan Schrock and Sam Dykeman. To celebrate Kellan's 9th Birthday, they went to the Discovery Centre and a skateboard park in Halifax. It was a beautiful sunny day. Simon's highlight was a trip to the "Freak Lunchbox" -- an old-fashioned candy store. What a boys' day!

Special time in Moncton

As we prepare to head to Kenya, we have made special time for our best friends. Lisa and Carla Shaw recently had a wonderful 2 nights in Moncton. It was a chance to reflect on their team work of the last 7 years (leading worship, choir, Incredible Race, Bethlehem Village). Their friendship began in 1981 and it is clear that God has blessed them with a special relationship. There were tears and laughs -- the perfect kind of best friends weekend.

Then Carla and Lisa attended the Renovare conference on spiritual formation (with Richard Foster) and were joined by two more special friends, Carol Jones and Paula Weaver.

Train to Halifax

During the March Break weekend we made a train getaway to Halifax with the Dykemans. Ted, Andrea, Alyssa, and Evan joined us for an enjoyable weekend of swimming, Discovery Centre, Thai food, movies and pizza. The train ride was a highlight for everyone -- remember not to go out the door of the last car!
